Last week, polyester taffeta and polyester polyester taffeta became popular in the gray fabric market, and this trend continues. Several large traders said they had received orders for a total of 130 million meters of 210T polyester taffeta. This news caused a commotion in the market!

Textile people’s little question mark: Have they really received so many orders? Is there any hype involved? Can pongee and polyester taffeta really be used as protective clothing? Will it be returned if it fails to meet relevant standards? …

I believe many textile people have many questions. In this regard, the editor also tried to understand it.

The price of polyester taffeta and pongee starts from hundreds of thousands of meters, half a day!

After visiting the market, I found that the volume of polyester taffeta and pongee has been really large in the past week. The manufacturer said that customers order at least hundreds of thousands of meters, and most of them are in cash. Settlement.
In terms of prices, many traders said that the current prices are very confusing, but they are all rising. It can be said that the price changes every day! As far as 210T polyester taffeta is concerned, the price a week ago was about 0.8-0.9, but recently due to the hot market, the quotation has been raised. Taking the editor as an example, I asked a manufacturer this morning, and the quotation of this piece of gray fabric was at 0.98 yuan/meter. When asked again in the afternoon, he said he wanted to recalculate the cost and finally quoted 1.18 yuan/meter.

And, judging from the polyester production and sales on the 26th and 27th, there were obvious differences in the transactions of polyester factories in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, with some FDY production and sales of 300 %, 110%, 150%, 90%, 60%; and fine-denier filament is used to make 210T and 190T polyester taffeta.

In terms of price, on the 27th, the price of FDY also increased:

Tongxiang direction: The FDY discount for polyester yarn from another large factory in Tongxiang has narrowed; the fine denier price of polyester yarn FDY from a mainstream large factory in Tongxiang has increased by 100 ;
Jiangsu direction: The polyester FDY semi-gloss price of a major mainstream factory in Shengze, Jiangsu rose by 100-200; the FDY of a factory in Wuxi was stable, and the transaction was negotiated; the polyester POY of a factory in Taicang was stable; the polyester POY of another factory in Taicang was stable The report is stable;

This can also be seen from the situation of dyeing factories, film sticking factories, and coating factories. At present, the gray fabrics entering the warehouse of dyeing factories are mainly polyester taffeta and pongee, which are basically whitened and whitened. White, light blue and other colors, and the film and coating factories have a lot of work recently, and they are basically busy until twelve o’clock in the evening every day!

Did polyester taffeta and pongee sell like crazy? Will there be a repeat of the “hard-to-find” situation in 2018?

As for whether any traders in the market have received actual orders for 130 million meters, the editor is not yet able to give a definite answer. But from the current point of view, taking advantage of the surge in demand for protective clothing, many manufacturers have said that they have sold out a wave of inventory, but the market has not reached the situation in 2018 where “a cloth is hard to find”.
First of all, polyester taffeta and pongee are used as protective clothing fabrics as alternatives to non-woven fabrics. Because non-woven fabrics are seriously out of stock and prices have soared, polyester taffeta and pongee are used instead. In other words, customers with strong financial strength are still more willing to use non-woven fabrics for protective clothing. Although non-woven fabrics are not worth much like polyester taffeta and pongee, they are antibacterial, breathable and comfortable. They are stronger than polyester taffeta and pongee, and can degrade by themselves (please refer to the previous article). Once the production of non-woven fabrics increases in the later period, the demand for pongee and polyester taffeta for protective clothing will also be greatly reduced.

Secondly, as the factory manager above said, one factory can weave 300,000 meters in one day, and the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions have more In addition, there are many polyester taffeta and pongee manufacturers in the Midwest, and the original manufacturers more or less have a certain amount of inventory, ranging from hundreds of thousands of meters to millions of meters. If you think about it carefully, this 130 million meters of cloth is actually not difficult to achieve. Even if the market does receive a solid order of 130 million meters, our huge chemical fiber fabric market will be enough to supply it.

Do polyester taffeta and pongee fabrics used as protective clothing meet the standards? Will the export be returned?

Regarding this issue, the editor has published a test report in a previous article. Polyester taffeta and polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester polyester and polyester polyester polyamide chloride have been used as protective clothing fabrics and have passed GB (Chinese standards). ), FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration certification), CE (European Union certification).

In the face of the epidemic, epidemic prevention materials are in short supply. Looking at the news online, the daily number of confirmed cases in many countries is still rising. Because medical staff lacked protective clothing, they cut them out of plastic bags and wore them.

Although polyester taffeta and pongee cannot degrade by themselves, they are at least more protective than plastic bags. Life comes first. In the case of shortage of non-woven fabrics, we can only settle for the second best.
Also, will it be returned for export? This is divided into two situations, one is to make protective clothing and then export it, which must obtain relevant testing and certification. If it is exported as fabric, there is not much problem (the export will not clearly indicate where the fabric is used), and now traders Basically, they export fabrics rather than ready-made garments. A trader said: “It should not be returned unless there is a problem with the quality of the fabric. We export fabrics, and then the customers find garment factories in their countries to process them. We are only responsible for the export of the fabrics and follow-up. The problem has nothing to do with us. Even if the protective clothing made of polyester taffeta and pongee is not recognized, the customer will most likely not return this batch of fabrics. First of all, refunding will affect later cooperation, and this polyester taffeta Even if pongee and pongee films cannot be used as protective clothing, they can also be used as linings, accessories, etc. for raincoats, outdoor sportswear, etc. There is still demand.”

Editor’s Note
Although domestic and foreign trade has been loosened at present, the improvement is limited. Except for pongee and polyester taffeta, the sales of other fabrics still have not improved much, and not all manufacturers of polyester taffeta and polyester taffeta have made much progress. All relevant orders have been received. For manufacturers that have no orders and are producing inventory, taking advantage of the upcoming May Day holiday and reducing production may be a good time to reduce inventory and recuperate. For those who have received actual orders, they have to produce at full capacity. At present, “holidays” and “rushing goods” coexist in the market.

The above is what the editor learned from the interview. What do you think of this? The editor sincerely welcomes all textile people to leave messages below, and the editor will continue to follow up to gain a deeper understanding! </p
