According to Pi Xiaolin, director of the Consumer Guidance Department of the China Consumers Association, this comparative test shows that the UV protection performance of sun protection clothing varies greatly. Among more than 20 samples claiming to have sun protection function, only 14 samples have relatively good sun protection effect, 9 samples have unsatisfactory sun protection effect, and the remaining 2 samples have basically no UV protection effect.
Some samples also have false claims for sun protection function. There are two models of clothing in the sample, that is, the nominal value of the UV protection coefficient is quite different from the actual measured value; there are three models with labeling problems, two of which are from the small commodity market, both have no clear brand trademarks, and the logos are very incomplete, and The sun protection effect is not ideal.
In terms of breathability, among the 26 samples claiming to be sun protection clothing, only 3 claimed to have breathability, but only 1 sample had good air permeability, exceeding 180mm/s. According to relevant regulations, clothing with an air permeability greater than 180mm/s has good air permeability.
Wang Baojun, director of the National Textile Products Quality Supervision and Inspection Center, reminded consumers that when purchasing sun-protective clothing, they should try to choose products with high protection coefficient and low transmittance; generally, products with dense fabrics, darker colors, and moderate thickness have better sun protection effects; in addition, You should try to choose sun protection clothing that can protect a large area and has good breathability.
