The expansion and alkali removal part of the roller-bending yarn finishing machine (Figure 6-32) adopts a bending roller to expand the alkali-containing fabric. Usually, 8 to 12 rubber bending rollers that are not immersed in the lotion and 8 to 12 cast iron bending rollers that are immersed in the lotion are used. There are also all cast iron bending rollers that are immersed in the lotion.

The rubber bending roller is a passive roller, driven by alkali-containing fabric; the cast iron bending roller is a driving roller, driven by gears.
The other parts of the roller bending wire finishing machine are basically the same as the cloth clip wire finishing machine. The bending roller in the expanded part consists of a bending mandrel, a shaft sleeve and a sleeve. The mandrel is covered with a multi-section bakelite or cast iron sleeve to prevent the mandrel from being worn. There is a multi-section rotatable cast iron sleeve outside the shaft sleeve, and there is a ball bearing between the shaft sleeve and the sleeve. The rubber bending roller is wrapped with a layer of rubber outside the cast iron sleeve to resist corrosion and increase friction during expansion. The expansion of the bending roller is when the fabric is close to the convex arc surface of the bending roller, the warp tension generates a weft component force to widen the fabric. The size of its expansion capacity is related to the diameter of the bending roller, the arc radius and the wrapping angle of the fabric on the bending roller.
Generally speaking, the expansion force is directly proportional to the diameter of the bending roller and inversely proportional to the arc radius. The larger the wrapping angle of the fabric from concave arc to convex arc, the better the expansion effect.
The roller wire bending machine occupies a small area and has a compact structure, but the expansion effect is poor. It is prone to problems such as weft bending, uneven warp density and difficult to control the width, so it is rarely used.
