New Year’s Day has passed, and the Spring Festival holiday seems to be speeding up again. At this time of year, the busiest companies seem to be the printing and dyeing companies. Since some printing and dyeing factories have a long Spring Festival holiday, traders will place orders in advance and rush to ship the orders they receive before the holiday.
As we near the end of the year, this year’s winter orders have basically come to an end. According to the editor, some companies have indeed placed orders for spring and summer next year, and the quantities are not small. And some of the better companies’ orders can last until March to April next year or even longer.
The weaving operation rate is stable and fabric orders are increasing
According to the data monitoring of China Silk City Network: the current weaving operation rate in Jiangsu and Zhejiang is around 71%, which is unchanged from last week and is very stable. Among them, some companies with a small number of looms can still maintain their operating rates at a relatively high level, but those with a large number of looms do not dare to maintain their operating rates at such a high level.
Mr. Yang, who produces elastic fabrics, said that currently only half of the factory is open and half is on holiday. It was originally planned to open all at the end of the month, but the market has improved recently, so we temporarily decided to open half of it.
Mr. Shen, who specializes in polyester taffeta and Oxford fabrics, said: “Currently, the machines in the factory are running normally, and it is still too late to fill all the orders. We received a lot of foreign trade orders some time ago, and they will continue until March to April next year. Now it has been If we don’t accept the order, the dyeing factory will be on holiday soon. If we accept it, we won’t be able to deliver the goods.”
Mr. Xue, who handles various orders, said: “I have been receiving new orders recently, and the market is a little better. But for orders at the end of the year, time is tight. Orders placed on December 26 must be shipped before January 16.” The delivery time of 20 days is relatively normal for normal times, but the dyeing factories are very busy recently, so we really need to open a green channel.”
The holiday hours for most dyeing factories are the same as in previous years
As the end of the year approaches, what textile people are most concerned about is the production shutdown and holiday time of various factories. In the past half month, various notices and signs of upcoming holidays have appeared in the market many times. Moreover, some factories have begun to take holidays, led by printing and dyeing factories in Zhejiang, Guangdong and other places. The holiday hours of most dyeing factories in Shengze and surrounding areas are determined based on thermal power plants. When everyone still thought that the thermal power plant should have a holiday at about the same time as in previous years, they never thought that the thermal power plant would stop supplying steam during the Spring Festival so soon!
Because a certain thermal power plant will shut down on January 14, many manufacturers are forced to take holidays early. Under normal circumstances, other thermal power plants will persist until the last moment and stop steam supply around January 20. This time is actually similar to the holiday time in previous years, not earlier than expected.
Mr. Yang, who specializes in T400 elastic fabrics, said: “Most dyeing factories have a holiday around January 15-20, which is similar to previous years. It is considered a normal time. It will not have a big impact on the market, and most orders can still be shipped normally. ”
Mr. Shen said that most of the dyeing factories he cooperates with have holidays around January 10-13, which is relatively early, so he stopped taking orders from the end of December.
It’s harder to get money back this year
The credit sales problem in the textile industry has been around for a long time. The fierce competition in the market has led many companies to adopt credit sales models to attract and retain customers to relieve pressure. However, as time goes by, customers will form the habit of credit transactions, and some bosses will even “work hard”, delaying payment for goods and then squandering money…
This year’s abnormal market conditions and the subsequent need for accounts will also become a worry for textile bosses. When I visited the market recently, the most common thing I heard was that Boss Bu complained about the difficulty of collecting accounts and getting money back.
“There are definitely more arrears this year than in previous years. Only when business is good can we have the confidence to have cash. Most of the time we are in arrears. Especially old customers, it has become a habit. But this year everyone’s cash is tight, and old customers are in arrears.” Customers can no longer settle accounts on time. Once credit is owed, bad debts are inevitable. Having been doing textiles for such a long time, there are some bad debts.” Mr. Yang said truthfully.
Mr. Shen, who is engaged in foreign trade, also revealed that this year’s foreign trade has been difficult to order containers due to numerous difficulties in shipping. The delivery time has been delayed, and the payment for the goods has naturally been delayed.
With the gradual introduction of holiday plans for the fabric market, weaving manufacturers, and printing and dyeing manufacturers, the end of the market is getting closer and closer. But what the textile bosses are more concerned about at this stage is finishing the shipment and collecting payment. However, “credit” has become an “industry rule” in the textile industry. The fierce competition in the market has led many companies to adopt the credit sales model. However, while doing business, they have also planted a “ticking time bomb”.
