Zhutang Knitted Garment Industry: Demonstrating the Power of Business Rules
Zhutang established the GarmentAssociation, not only formulated the articles of association, but also formulated “Rules and Regulations”, requiring enterprises to compete fairly and be honest and trustworthy. It has also formulated binding measures such as charging liquidated damages and canceling memberships for companies that do not comply with “business rules and regulations”.
“China’s Famous Knitted Garment Town” Jiangsu The knitted garment industry in Zhutang Town started in the 1980s, relying on foreign trade companies to issue orders. Production, self-operated import and export, and the implementation of the park strategy have formed a relatively complete knitted garment industry chain from spinning, weaving, printing and dyeing to ready-made garments. The textile and garment industry, which accounts for half of Zhutang’s industrial economy, has been “reborn” in recent years through development measures such as brand cultivation and integration of external and international operations, and the industrial level has been greatly improved.
Zhutang Town actively encourages enterprises to shift from OEM production to building independent brands and improve the added value of products. It has responded well to the plan’s call to “promote the industrialization of high-tech fibers and improve the level of textile equipment independence” . For example, one of the earliest bases in the country focusing on the research and development and innovation of linen knitting products was established in Zhutang. This base was awarded by the China Knitting Industry Association.
It is understood that Zhutang Town, known as the “Textile Town”, is also preparing to establish a flax gene laboratory on the base, integrating flax plant fiber through genetic breeding, and moving the traditional flax industry into a cutting-edge high-tech innovation field.
