Overview of the National Chemical Fiber Production, Sales and Inventory Operation in November 2008
(1) Overview of production, sales and inventory
According to statistics from the China Textile Circulation Association (sample enterprise), the production of chemical fibers
in November 2008 was approximately 481,000 tons, a decrease of nearly 4,000 tons from the previous year, a decrease of 0.82%. A year-on-year decrease of nearly 29,600 tons, a decrease of 5.80%. This month’s sales volume was approximately 514,000 tons, an increase of nearly 60,000 tons from the previous month, an increase of 13.26%. A year-on-year increase of nearly 12,400 tons, an increase of 2.47%. The inventory this month is approximately 272,000 tons, a decrease of nearly 32,000 tons from the previous month, a decrease of 10.62%. A year-on-year increase of nearly 45,500 tons, an increase of 20.07%. This month’s production and sales rate was 106.84%, an increase of 13.28 percentage points from the previous month. A year-on-year increase of 8.62 percentage points. The inventory level this month was 56.51%, a decrease of 5.66 percentage points from the previous month. A year-on-year increase of 12.18 percentage points
In terms of production and sales, the output of polyester fiber has basically remained stable, with a slight decrease in polyester short fiber, a slight increase in filament, and a decrease in polyester chip output. The sales volume of polyester long and short yarns increased to varying degrees compared with the previous month, while the sales volume of polyester chips decreased. The production and sales of acrylic fiber increased compared with the previous month, while the production and sales of nylon filament decreased.
This month, as the sharp decline in international crude oil prices has weakened, the prices of major chemical raw materials such as PX, PTA, and MEG have increased steadily. The prices of polyester, nylon and other outputs are showing signs of stabilizing, driven by rising prices of upstream raw materials. Acrylic fiber prices have fallen significantly due to the downturn in the downstream market. Viscose fiber prices have fallen sharply due to factors such as the continued decline in upstream raw material prices and shrinking downstream demand.
(2) Sales Flow
According to statistics from the China Textile Circulation Association (sample enterprise), the sales of chemical fibers nationwide in November 2008 were mainly concentrated in Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces. Affected by the increase in domestic sales of major products such as polyester fiber and acrylic fiber, the inflow of Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces this month increased significantly compared with the previous month. Among them, Zhejiang increased by nearly 37,000 tons, an increase of 26.31%. Jiangsu increased by nearly 14,200 tons, an increase of 12.82%. Due to the decline in foreign market demand, the export volume continued to decrease this month, which was nearly 1,600 tons less than the previous month, a decrease of 6.28%. There was little change in the inflow from other regions. The inflow of chemical fiber in Hainan and Qinghai provinces was blank this month. AASDFERHYTJTI
