Although the textile market has ended the traditional “Gold, Three, Silver and Four” peak season, it is still busy in May.
Weaving factories rush into production after the holidays
Although the market conditions in April were not as good as in March, many companies received new orders before the May Day holiday. For this reason, the original holiday plans were canceled and they devoted themselves to catching up on orders. The long holiday is over, but companies are still rushing to get orders. Most of the weaving manufacturers that had a holiday during the May Day holiday have resumed production and are currently in normal production.
“My company did not have a holiday on May Day because we received orders, and the current availability rate has remained at 100%.” said Mr. Chen, who mainly sells nylon fabrics.
Manager Zhang, who produces Oxford cloth, also said: “Our company took a total of three days off on May Day, and has now resumed production. All machines have been turned on. The orders on hand have been scheduled until August, so we are still rushing to produce.”
There is still a queue at the dyeing factory
In terms of dyeing factories, most of the printing and dyeing companies that were suspended during the holidays have resumed work. As new orders were received before the holiday and have not yet been fully delivered, the dyeing factory is relatively busy. Most manufacturers have a schedule of 1-3 days, and the overall average delivery time is about 5-7 days. Some manufacturers that receive more orders have a delivery time of more than 7 days.
Manager Zhang told the editor: “The dyeing factory we cooperate with is still quite busy. We still have to queue up and it takes about 10-15 days to ship. However, the current quantity of gray fabrics entering the warehouse has been reduced by 50% compared with before.”
Mr. Tang, the owner of imitation silk weaving, said: “The dyeing factory is currently in normal production, and small orders still have to be queued. Normal shipments take one week, and small orders take at least 10 days.”
At present, the dyeing factory is more prominent in dyeing imitation silk and four-way stretch gray fabrics, and also dyes other varieties in quantity. The overall number of orders received is average, mostly based on orders received in the previous period. Domestic brands are still producing goods at the same pace as before, and foreign trade orders have improved slightly. At present, the operating rate of printing and dyeing samples in Shengze area is 72.2%, an increase of 10.2% compared with the same period last year. It can also be seen from the figure that after dyeing factories entered May last year, the operating rate plummeted, and the market entered the off-season ahead of schedule. But this year, the trend in April was still maintained in early May, showing a strong trend.
Some gray fabric varieties are hot-selling
In terms of gray fabric weaving, the current market situation is not much different from that at the end of April, and new orders are still being placed sporadically. Among them, artificial silk is the main product, and the foreign trade market demand for individual varieties has expanded, and the order volume has also increased. In terms of nylon, as the weather gradually warms up, the demand for sun protection clothing is also increasing, and the trading volume of 20D nylon gray fabrics has also increased.
Mr. Tang, owner of imitation silk weaving, revealed: “Recently, the transaction volume of CEY products has expanded, mainly due to large-volume foreign trade orders, and prices have also increased.”
“We have received an order of 20,000 meters in early May. Although the volume is not large, it is still a good start.” Mr. Chen, a weaving company mainly engaged in nylon fabrics, reported back.
The market situation in May can still be expected
At the beginning of May, some companies have placed new orders, continuing the “Silver Four” market trend in April. It can be seen from the figure that the operating rate of weaving factories has been fluctuating at a high level since the end of the year, and the operating rate has increased compared with last year. New orders at home and abroad are being placed one after another, and the foreign trade market has also seen new improvements. Overall, the strong market trend will continue in the short term in May.
Mr. Chen also said: “Our company’s order reception situation has improved. In April, there were all small orders, and in May, we received several slightly larger orders. From the current point of view, May is the point where orders will improve this year.”
“Currently, the executable orders on hand have been scheduled until August, mainly domestic sales orders. The order receiving situation in May was good and they are still being issued.” Mr. Zhang said.
From a follow-up perspective, companies are receiving good orders, are highly motivated to start weaving operations, and have a high and volatile start-up rate. May may continue the “Silver Four” peak season trend in April.
