Three-proof performance testing standards
The three-proof test of fabric products mainly assesses the ability of fabric products to resist water splashing, stain resistance, or oil droplets and dirt under certain conditions. The common oil repellency test is also a type of stain repellency test. The main standards for stain resistance testing of fabrics are shown in Table 1
Water blocking
Refer to AATCC 22《 Detection and evaluation of water-blocking properties of fabrics – Water-wet method to measure the dynamic water-blocking properties of fabrics. Among them, the standard methods of GB/T 4745 and ISO 4920 are basically consistent with AATCC 22. The fabric sample after water-repellent and oil-repellent treatment is fixed on a metal ring with a diameter of about 150 mm, and placed on a fixed fixture with an angle of 45°. on the shelf. Pour 250 mL of water quickly from the glass funnel above the sample to ensure that the natural spray is completed within 25-30 s. Remove the fixing ring, tap the fabric horizontally with the front side down, observe the wetting condition of the sample surface, and evaluate its water blocking value. The sprinkler device is shown in the figure below, and the reference standards are shown in Table 2:
The stain removal test for fabrics is to apply oil droplets or different stains to the fabric and then wash it under certain conditions to determine the remaining stains. The main standards for easy stain removal testing of fabrics are shown in Table 3.
AATCC 130 Easy Decontamination Test Method
This test mainly measures the ability of fabrics to remove oil stains after cleaning. During the test, two 38×38cm samples were placed flat on a single layer of AATCC absorbent paper after conditioning the humidity for 4 hours at a temperature of 21±1°C and a relative humidity of 65±2%, and dripped 5 drops with a dropper. (about 0.2ml) corn oil on the surface of the sample, cover the oil stained area with 3×3inch (7.6×7.6cm) cellophane, and then press it on the cellophane paper with a 5.0±0.1lb (2.268±0.045kg) weight and place it for 60± 5s, then remove the weight and discard the cellophane. It should be noted that the oil-stained sample cloths cannot come into contact with each other to transfer stains.
Place the sample in a washing machine within 20±5min after soiling. Select the appropriate cleaning temperature according to the sample material for cleaning. When cleaning, use high water level, add 100±1g of detergent into the washing machine, and put in a washing cloth to make the total load 4.00±0.15lb. The maximum number of sample cloths for each washing machine is 30 pieces for each test. Set the washing machine to the Normal setting and run the test for 12 minutes before completing the test. Take out all the wash cloths and sample cloths and put them into the dryer. Set the dryer to Normal setting for 45 minutes or until dry.
Take out the sample fabric immediately after drying, lay it flat to prevent wrinkles, and then Within 4 hours, compare the samples with the rating card. Each piece of fabric is evaluated twice, and the average of the four results is taken as the final result. The results should be reported by stating which rating card was used, the washing program, the type of oil used. The hardness of the water, the type of wash cloth, the type of cleaning agent and the washing machine and dryer used should also be stated. The result grade ranges from 1 to 5. The higher the grade, the less oil residue remains, that is, the better the decontamination property; the smaller the grade, the more oil residue remains, which means the decontamination is poor.
