However, the fatal weakness of down is that it is afraid of water. After absorbing water, the down shrinks into a ball, completely losing its warmth retention properties, and it is also difficult to dry.
It is much more difficult to treat down to be water-repellent than ordinary clothing.
Everyone knows that the water repellency of clothing will fade with cleaning and use. You need to buy an anti-repellent agent and spray it to restore the water repellency. However, it is obviously impossible to dismantle the down jacket and spray the down again.
In addition, the advantage of down lies in its combination of lightness and warmth, so the water-repellent treatment cannot increase the weight of the down.
