Xinjiang: High-quality cotton is in competition and the market is full of confidence
Recently, the purchase of seed cotton in Xinjiang cotton areas has been completed. Cotton companies are focusing on moving warehouses to the inland and selling lint cotton in Xinjiang. High-quality lint cotton in Xinjiang cotton areas has attracted much attention, and middle and low grades Cotton sales are stagnant.
On March 3, the person in charge of an Aksu cotton company said that in recent days, “Double 29” and “Double 30” hand-picked cotton in southern Xinjiang have attracted much attention, and downstream companies have continued to be enthusiastic about placing orders, especially in the mainland. Traders and textile companies in Xinjiang are even more flocking to it. On that day, the price of hand-picked cotton in South Xinjiang on “Double 29” in Aksu region was about 16,100 yuan/ton (gross weight, with tickets), which was about 100 yuan/ton higher than the price in previous days. The price of hand-picked cotton in “Double 28” and “Double 30” was consistent due to the same It has good performance and high-quality indicators, and is very popular.
Recently, we can still see some traders from Jiangsu, Shandong, Sichuan, Chongqing and other places in the mainland coming to inquire about prices and inspect goods. Their purchasing target is high-quality Xinjiang cotton. A merchant from Jiangsu said that the cotton reserve rotation is about to begin, but the cotton reserves are mainly cotton from 2011 to 2013, and no one can be sure of the quality of the cotton. Xinjiang’s high-quality cotton has become the target of everyone’s competition.
Xinjiang textile companies have made rapid progress in the past two years with policy support. It is estimated that the cotton used for spinning may increase to 700,000-800,000 tons this year. Since there is basically no cotton in reserve in the cotton reserve supervision warehouse in Xinjiang, Xinjiang textile companies have to transport cotton from the mainland to Xinjiang after bidding, but there is no subsidy for “return” cotton out of Xinjiang. The current cost of truck transportation is about 1,000 yuan/ton, so the cost of transporting reserved quilts to Xinjiang has greatly increased, and it is not cost-effective for enterprises.
“We are hurrying to buy local cotton so that we can at least maintain normal production.” On March 3, the boss of a Xinjiang textile company introduced that their procurement target is Xinjiang hand-picked cotton and machine-picked cotton of grade 3128 and above. Recently, high-quality Xinjiang cotton has been in short supply in Xinjiang. However, according to feedback from some cotton enterprises in Xinjiang, the amount of high-quality Xinjiang cotton currently remaining in Xinjiang is not large. Most Xinjiang enterprises have moved their warehouses to the mainland, and each enterprise has not stocked up much.
When talking about their views on the aftermarket, most Xinjiang cotton and textile companies are full of confidence. As the boss of a cotton company said: At present, the sales progress of Xinjiang cotton exceeds 75-90%, and there is not much cotton left by the main body of cotton sorting. It seems that the sales pressure will be less in the future. In addition, the quality of Xinjiang cotton reached a historical high in 2016 and was widely praised by downstream cotton-using enterprises. It is estimated that Xinjiang cotton farmers will have an even better harvest in 2017.
Some textile companies also said that the market can be expected in 2017. On the one hand, the price of imported yarn has risen sharply after the Spring Festival. In terms of conventional yarn, the price of internal and external yarn is currently upside down to close to 1,000 yuan/ton. Many natural cotton companies have switched to using domestic yarn. On the other hand, reserve cotton will continue to be rotated out, and companies are expected to reduce costs and improve competitiveness.
