OEKO-TEX releases the 2013 version of textile hazardous substance testing and limit value requirements standards

According to news on January 8, 2013, OEKO-TEX® announced the test standards and limit value requirements for the new OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 fabric product hazardous substance inspection at its annual meeting. The new standard will take effect on January 1, 2013. ; It will be officially implemented on April 1, 2013.

Compared with the 2012 version, there are mainly the following new changes:
1. In the future, 8 new polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) content tests will be added to candidate certified fabrics, for a total of 24 items. It is stipulated that in product category one (infant products), the total sum of existing benzo(a)pyrene and PHAs will be reduced from the original 1.0mg/kg and 10mg/kg to 0.5mg/kg and 5mg/kg respectively.


2. Taking into account the update of the Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) list under the REACH regulation, dimethylformamide (DMFa) is included in the list of regulated solvents with a limit value of 0.1% .


3. Add dipentyl phthalate (DPP) to the requirements for phthalates in candidate samples, from 11 items to 12 items, 12 items The sum limit remains at the previous requirement of 0.1%.


4. Taking into account the new revision of the list of restricted substances in Annex XVII of the REACH regulation, dimethyl fumarate (DMFu) is included as an added substance in the OEKO-TEX® regulated residues List of chemical substances,


5. Adjustment of extractable nickel content limits: Adjustments are made for all four OEKO-TEX® product grades. The new limit value for product grade I is lowered from 1.0 mg/kg to 0.5 mg/kg, and for product grades II to IV, the limit value is lowered from 4.0 mg/kg to 1.0 mg/kg.


6. Change the original octylphenol (OP), nonylphenol (NP), octylphenol polyoxyethylene ether (OPEO(1-9)s), nonyl The individual requirements for phenol polyoxyethylene ethers (NPEO(1-9)s) are changed to additive requirements, as follows:
OP +NP= 50 mg/kg (equivalent to 0.005% of fabric weight)
OP+NP+OPEO(1-9)s+NPEO(1-9)s= 500 mg/kg (equivalent to 0.05% of the fabric weight)
