Process reference for DuPont three-proof finishing of cotton and blended fabrics

[Abstract] Dupont three-proof Teflon Oleophobol CP-SLA finishing agent was used to perform water-repellent, oil-repellent and stain-repellent finishing on cotton and blended chemical fiber fabrics, and the temperature, finishing agent dosage, and washing times were discussed in the experiment. On the effect of post-finishing and the change in fabric strength before and after post-finishing, it was determined that the water-repellent and oil-repellent effect of Oleophobol CP-SLA 40-60g/L on cotton and its blended chemical fiber fabrics was obvious and durable, and large-scale production lofting was carried out. Its DuPont three-proof finishing effect meets or exceeds the tag requirements.

Fabrics treated with three-proof finishing agents can protect users from splashes and damage from water, oil, chemicals and dirt. Most of the finishing agents currently used are fluorine-containing finishing agents. The fluorine-containing finishing agent is a water-repellent, oil-repellent and stain-repellent finishing aid. It can form a molecular barrier around the fiber surface and can block water, oil, Stains stick, penetrate and have good durability. Water-repellent and oil-repellent finishing uses the surface characteristics of fluoride to form a molecular barrier on the surface of the fabric to block the wetting of water and various oil stains and dirt. 1 Test materials and methods

1.1 Materials

1.1.2 Reagents

DuPont three-proof Oleophobol CP-SLA (Ciba Refinement) Glacial acetic acid (60% for industrial use) Citric acid (industrial product)

1.1.3 Instruments and equipment

Horizontal prototype rolling mill (Ribi, Taiwan), YG026B strong tensile tester (Changzhou Second Textile Machinery), household washing machine, 101-A oven (Shanghai Zhongnan)

1.2.1 Process prescription

1.2.2 Process flow

Plan No. 1: Finishing agent after one dip and one padding of the fabric (padding rate 70%, pH value 4~5) → pre-drying (drying at 100°C) → baking (180°C × 40s)

Plan No. 2: Fabric padding with citric acid 5-10g/L (pH value 5~7) → drying (drying at 100°C) → one dip and one padding finishing agent (padding rate 70%, pH value 4～5)→Pre-baking (100℃ drying)→Baking (180℃×40s)

It can be seen from the above table that all indicators of the finished fabric are higher than the tag requirements, and the product feels soft, dry and non-rough, does not affect breathability, is non-toxic, non-pollution, non-carcinogenic, does not contain chlorine and other substances , does not affect the color finish and dyeing fastness, and does not need to be repaired after finishing. After passing the test, Teflon three-proof tags can be used.

4.4 Notes

(1) The pH value of the finishing fabric is slightly acidic, do not use alkali, and the impurities must be clean and free of residual wetting agents, slurries, softeners, cleaning agents, surfactants, etc.

(2) The washing of fabrics after coloring should be strengthened, which is beneficial to the removal of impurities from the fabrics.

(3) The barrel and rolling trough of the setting machine must be rinsed clean, and the finishing agent should not come into contact with silicone softeners.
