Environmental protection management has become stricter, forcing the elimination of backward production capacity. In 2016, the country’s total dye production capacity was 1.33 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 5.6%. The growth mainly came from planned expansion projects from 2013 to 2015. However, there was basically no new production capacity in 2017, and the expansion basically stopped. The amount of dye wastewater generated is large, and the discharge of some enterprises does not meet the standards.
