China Cotton Association: The picking progress in the mainland is only over 90%, and cotton farmers are not active in selling

Based on the predicted yield, picking volume and delivery volume of cotton farmers surveyed, as of the end of November, the average picking progress in the Mainland was 92.04% , a year-on-year slowdown of 4 percentage points; the sales progress was 35.06%, a year-on-year slowdown of 16 percentage points; the average price of cotton sold by cotton farmers was 6.88 yuan/kg, a year-on-year increase of 19.7%.
The first half of November in the Yangtze River Basin is rainy and the temperature is low. Insufficient lighting will result in poor cotton wadding, hindered picking, and reduced quality. As of November 15, the picking progress was 86.66%, 6.6 percentage points slower than the same period last year. Due to rainy weather, less cotton was purchased, and cotton farmers were not active in selling, so the progress was slow. As of November 15, the progress was 41.67%, 22.1 percentage points year-on-year; the average sales price was 6.62 yuan/kg, a year-on-year increase of 18.64%, basically the same as at the end of October.
Due to the bad climate in the Yellow River Basin, picking is slow and the quality of cotton has declined compared with the previous period. , the price is relatively stable, cotton farmers are reluctant to sell and are not active in sales. As of November 15, the picking progress was 97.30%, a year-on-year decrease of 2.2 percentage points; the sales progress was 28.60%, a year-on-year decrease of 6.3 percentage points; the average price of cotton sold by cotton farmers was 7.14 yuan/kg, a year-on-year increase 20.61%.
In Gansu, all cotton picking and selling work has ended, and the average selling price of cotton farmers is 6.86 yuan/kg, a year-on-year increase of 23.83%.
