China Cocoon Xinke builds the world’s largest silkworm cocoon production base
Since the trial production of the first production line of Yashilin Changsha (International) SericultureSilk Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park in September last year, it has been Intelligentsolutions empower the traditional sericulture industry to become a reality. “After nearly half a year of trial production and debugging, the first production line has become mature.” Liu Li, the project construction and operator of Zhongyu Xinke Biological Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Zhongyu Xinke”), a subsidiary of Yashilin Group, said: “The next step is for the company to We will accelerate production and bring the first-phase project into full production as soon as possible.”
With the orderly advancement of the project, the world’s largest cocoon production base will be born here in 2024, with an estimated annual output of 500,000 tons of fresh cocoons, accounting for more than 50% of the global cocoon raw material market. After the completion of the third phase of the project, a sericulture industrial park integrating intelligent sericulture and silk manufacturing, popular science, education, culture and tourism, and a silk museum will be built to fully integrate the primary, secondary and tertiary industries, helping Hunan’s cocoon industry to regain its glory.
Intelligent production
Increase the efficiency of sericulture by 1,000 times
In the 40,000-square-meter factory of Zhongcocoon Xinke, a robotic arm lifts up the white silkworm frame and fixes it to a specific position. It lays feed, puts in silkworm seeds, and sends it into the incubator. A series of actions are completed in one go. The 20 operators only need to pace and “supervise” at key nodes of the production line.
Such a production line can produce up to 25 tons of silkworm cocoons per day. “We represent the most advanced production method of silkworm cocoon production in the world.” Liu Li said that under the traditional silkworm cocoon production model, 70% is labor input, but under the industrial sericulture model, the efficiency has increased by 1,000 times.
The efficiency of silkworm farming has been improved, can the quality of silkworm cocoons be guaranteed?
“The quality of silkworm cocoons is mainly determined by the variety of silkworms and the environment when they are clustered.” Liu Li said that the silkworm varieties of Zhongcocoon New Branch can produce the highest grade (6A)raw silk, at the same time, due to the absolute control of the environment, standardized production is achieved to ensure the consistency of cocoon products. Its loading rate, unwinding rate, clarity and other indicators are better than more than 90% of traditional cocoons.
In the project park, several iron barrels tens of meters high stand in the northwest corner of the factory. Workers only need to put food raw materials into them, and they can automatically complete the mixing and proportioning, and then quickly transport them to the intelligent via high-altitude pipelines. In the workshop, silkworm babies can always enjoy freshly baked delicacies.
The life of a silkworm baby is about 31 days. According to its growth law, Zhongcocoon Xinke has divided into five growth stages. The food obtained and the environment in each stage have been carefully calculated and tested. In the silkworm room with constant temperature, constant humidity and sterility, silkworm babies can grow, spin silk and produce cocoons 365 days a year, greatly improving efficiency and output.
Little Silkworm Treasure
Will “spit” out hundreds of billions of industries
In the past, sericulture was a job that depended on the weather. On the one hand, objective factors such as thequality of mulberry leaves and the climate when silkworms are clustered are crucial. Silkworms, on the other hand, are oligophagous and eat only mulberry leaves. If we want to break the shackles of seasons, we can only solve the fundamental problem, which is to cultivate polyphagous silkworm varieties and scientifically allocate food for them.
After years of hard work, China Cocoon New Technology has successfully cultivated a variety of polyphagous silkworms that can adapt to feed-based feeding methods. At the same time, China Cocoon New Technology also innovated feed formulas for silkworms, allowing “silkworm babies” to eat well and deliciously, creating conditions for the industrialization of the sericulture industrytransformation and upgrading.
“Changsha has a solid cultural foundation for the development of the cocoon industry.” Liu Li said that the plain yarn Zen clothes unearthed in Mawangdui prove that Hunan had superb textile technology 2100 years ago. As one of the four famous embroideries in China, Hunan embroidery is a symbol of the glory of cocoon silk and an important reason for attracting Yashilin Group to invest in Changsha.
“The sericulture and silk industry chain is long and has many types of products. In particular, it requires the concentration, concentration, concentration, integration and cluster development of all links in the industry chain.” Regarding how to develop the sericulture and silk industry in Hunan with high quality, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Hunan Sericulture Research Institute , director and second-level researcher Li Yiping said that it is necessary to open up the supply channels of factors and build a modern sericulture industry system with coordinated development of the real economy, technological innovation, modern finance, and human resources. To fully share technology, information, talent, policies and other resource elements, to achieve “leading the leadership, gathering chains through parks, and clustering chains” and centralized enterprise layout and industry agglomeration development, intensive utilization of resources, and integrated functional construction to continuously enhance the resilience and competitiveness of the industrial chain.
With the maturity of the first-phase production line of the project, China Cocoon Xinke has cooperated with some local downstream companies. At the same time, this year, China Cocoon New Technology will also complete the planting of mulberry seedlings in Yongan Fengyu’s 400-acre sericulture base, further extending the upstream industrial chain. Liu Li said that in the future, China Cocoon Xinke will focus on promoting the construction of the entire silk industry chain in Changsha including cocoons, raw silk, fabrics, clothing, clothing, home textiles, gifts, etc., and use the driving effect of cocoon raw material production and the development opportunities of industry chain integration to guide and Promote a batch of silk productionHigh-quality enterprises in the lower reaches of the chain have settled in Hunan for joint development, pushing Hunan’s cocoon and silk industry towards the goal of a 100-billion-level industry.
