Can bedding be innovated? Suzhou, a major textile city, does this!
Reporters learned from the Suzhou Market Supervision Department today (March 24) that the Third National Technical Committee for Standardization of Home Textiles for Bedding, jointly hosted by Suzhou Fiber Inspection Institute and Luolai Life Technology Co., Ltd. The 2022 annual meeting of the sub-technical committee was held in Suzhou. Nearly 80 members and experts from relevant domestic universities, scientific research institutes, inspection and testing institutions, bedding manufacturers and industry associations were invited to participate.
The reporter learned that at the meeting, all committee members reviewed and approved two industry standards: “Knitted Fabrics Bedding” and “Handmade Coarse Bedding”, and reviewed the “Corduroy Quilt Cover” “Corduroy sheets”, “latex pillows and cushions” and “warp knitted mesh fabric composite mats” are subject to review voting.
The home textile industry has always been a traditional industry, a people’s livelihood industry and a key industry in the “531” industrial chain in Jiangsu Province. Suzhou is a major industrial city and a strong textile city. Actively carrying out standardization research in the textile field is of great significance to assisting industrial improvement and serving highqualitydevelopment of the economy and society.
Since Suzhou Fiber Inspection Institute took on the role of the secretariat of the Bedding Sub-Technical Committee of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Home Textiles, it has joined forces with Luolai Life Technology Co., Ltd. to put forward a total of 21 proposals, including “Disposable Bedding” and “Plant Dyes” Nine industry standard projects including “Dyeing Bedding” and “Knitted Functional Pillow for Infants and Young Children” were successfully approved. Two national standard projects, “Thermal Performance Requirements and Test Methods of Home Textiles” and “Test Methods for Breathability of Latex Products in Bedding”, were approved before the plan was released. The public announcement has effectively promoted the in-depth integration of the talent chain, innovation chain, industrial chain and standard chain, laying a solid foundation for the development of the textile industry innovation cluster.
Next, the market regulatory authorities will continue to promote standard development to improve corporate quality and brand development capabilities, enhance industrial quality competitiveness, and improve people’s sense of quality gain and satisfaction. Suzhou Fiber Inspection Institute will actively strive to take the lead and participate in the development of standards around smart home textiles, ecological home textiles, and healthy home textiles; solidly promote the publicity and implementation of the national standards for “Bedding” and newly released industry standards such as “Latex Quilt” and “Cotton Knitted Blanket” Work; pay attention to the progress ofnew materials, new processes, and new technologies, timely convert advanced scientific and technological achievements into standards, and promote the effective application of standards; actively use standardization means to serve more products and technologies and equipment “Going Out” to help standardization work transform into a quality-benefit-oriented one, promote the upgrading of my country’s household textile industry and achieve high-quality development.
