Nanning, Guangxi taps ethnic clothing design talents and launches ethnic clothing brands
The Nanning Municipal Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau of Guangxi introduced on the 23rd that online registration for the 2022 “Splendid Yunshang·Beautiful Nanning” National Costume Design Competition has started. The competition aims to further tap ethnic costume designtalents, promote the formulation of Guangxi ethnic costume standards, create ethnic costume brands, and accelerate the development of the local ethnic costume industryQualitydevelopment.
On the same day, the press conference of the 2022 “Splendid Clouds and Beautiful Nanning” National Costume Design Competition was held in Nanning. This competition focuses on the ethnic costumes of Guangxi Shizhu, with the goal of creating characteristics and building a brand, driven by innovation and creativity, guided by market demand, and relying on local ethnic culture and design resources to fully demonstrate the diversity of Guangxi’s ethnic costumes. The market value of nature, rarity, artistry, collectability and its exploitability. Continue to promote the prosperity and development of Guangxi’s ethnic costumes and promote the in-depth integration of the ethnic costume industry and tourism.
According to the relevant person in charge of the Nanning Municipal Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau, this is the second time Nanning City has held an ethnic costume design competition after the wonderful Guangxi National Costume Creative Competition in 2019. It is hoped that through the competition, it will attract the interest and attention of all walks of life in ethnic costume culture, promote the integrated development of excellent traditional culture and creative design, and further enhance the image and reputation of the capital city.
This competition will last for 5 months and will be held from September 2022 to February 2023. The entire competition schedule is divided into six stages: registration and submission of design drawings, preliminary judging, garment production and submission, final judging, award-winning clothing show and award ceremony, and finalists’ garment exhibition.
The competition is mainly open to teachers and students of domestic and foreign fashion colleges and art colleges, R&D institutions engaged in the research and development and production of ethnic costumes, manufacturers, traditional handicraft makers, corporate designers, freelance designers, etc. The competition is open to the public. Clothing with Guangxi ethnic characteristics worn on solemn occasions or ceremonies, such as government attire, diplomatic attire, dinner attire, etc.
The competition will ultimately select gold, silver, bronze, best creative awards, best visual awards, best clothing matching awards, best craftsmanship awards and best market potential awards, with a total bonus of 75,000 yuan. . In addition, there are also awards such as the Outstanding Guidance Award and the Outstanding Organization Award.
