However, researchers at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University have developed a “textile circuit board” (FCB) that is highly flexible and is not afraid of cleaning.

When researchers at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University developed FCB, they used a computer knitting technology and integrated conductive fiber metal materials and traditional fibers. These materials are like circuits on ordinary circuit boards. The fibers act as a suture material to ensure that all The circuits are “in their place” and also act as insulators between different circuits.

Researchers said that FCB circuit boards can be stretched, cleaned, spliced, woven, etc. This new material has very good stretch resistance. It can be stretched by 300%, folded 1 million times, and can even withstand bullets. This material is expected to be used in future smartphones, wearable devices or military equipment.
