Recently, Reebok announced a new plan called “Cotton + Corn”, intending to launch sneakers made from these two plants on the market. The “Cotton + Corn” project is the Reebok team’s vision for the future, and now it has produced a pair of environmentally friendly casual shoes, in which the upper is made of organic cotton and the sole is made of corn.

However, Reebok has not provided further details about this plan at present, but only released a video to show it. However, it is still unknown whether this pair of shoes will be officially launched on the market in 2017.

According to Reebok, this pair of sneakers uses materials such as industrial corn and organic cotton, and the price will not “rise all boats”. Bill Mclnnis, Reebok’s head of future projects, said the company’s goal is to provide a wider range of options, and the shoes can be directly degraded into fertilizer after being worn or thrown away, without affecting the environment.

Reebok has now begun cooperating with DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products to create more biodegradable and environmentally friendly sneakers. At present, after most sports shoes are thrown away, their fate is directly turned into garbage disposal, and this is also a situation that Reebok hopes to work hard to change.

At present, Reebok has not officially announced the price and specific launch time of this pair of cotton corn shoes.
