Nowadays, the country is troubled by the epidemic. The textile industry is not only facing rising prices of raw materials and declining demand, but also facing the trouble of poor transportation and logistics circulation across the country. This also makes the melancholy in the hearts of textile people difficult to dissipate.
Resumption of work and reduced control
At present, we can see that the domestic epidemic is coming fiercely and is showing a trend of point outbreaks, which also makes the recovery of the textile industry more difficult. After a long period of control, Dongguan’s textile industry, which was previously suspended due to the epidemic, has now resumed work. In the Dalang Town control area, with the adjustment of the level of the town’s epidemic prevention and control area, as long as the enterprise can pass the epidemic prevention acceptance, it can be promoted Full work and full production. The peak season has gradually come to an end. Due to the impact of the epidemic, it is already valuable to have a smooth start.
Although some previously controlled areas can now resume work, it does not mean that the textile industry can immediately return to previous levels. Since March, a total of more than 320,000 locally infected cases have been reported across the country, affecting 30 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities). Many places in the country have initiated lockdown, prevention and control management measures, and classified risk levels in relevant areas. Shanxi, Jilin, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, etc. have also upgraded their control.
Shanxi: Starting from 5:00 on April 13, all six urban districts in Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, will be closed, and all urban areas will only be closed. This marks that Taiyuan City has officially pressed the pause button since the outbreak!
Jilin: From 12:00 on April 14, the entire Changbai Mountain Protection and Development Zone and Chibei District will implement fully closed and silent management, and nucleic acid testing will be carried out on the 15th.
Zhejiang: On the 14th, a large dyeing factory in Shaoxing was listed as a sealed and controlled area. On the 16th, another large textile company was listed as a sealed and controlled area.
Zhangjiagang City, Suzhou, Jiangsu Province issued a notice that from 5:00 on April 12 to 5:00 on April 14 (tentative), some areas of the city will implement static management, and all citizens in the Tangqiao and Fenghuang areas will stop all non-essential movements.
Some areas have just resumed work, and there are many places to control it, which is really a headache. Under the control of the epidemic, the textile industry has also been under a lot of pressure. Production, sales, and logistics are all worrying. Faced with this situation, some regions have also introduced a number of measures to help struggling textile companies. For example, Suzhou has issued 20 measures to provide support services. No one wants to see a shutdown, but no matter what, only perseverance can get through the difficulties.
Small orders are still being placed
Since the peak season, due to the impact of the epidemic in various places, there have been very few large orders. Many people have said that they do not expect gold, three, and silver. This is indeed a matter of helplessness. According to statistics from sample companies monitored by China Silk City Network, the current operating rate of looms in Shengze is around 65%, which is the same as last week. However, in the peak season, compared with last year, the operating rate this year has dropped by about 12%. This is mainly due to the impact of the epidemic. If there is no demand for raw materials, it will be very difficult in itself.
But the truth cannot be said so absolutely. Although the peak season is not as glamorous as in the past, small batch orders are still a bit of a problem. Under the current situation, it is good to have an order. In fact, the customers who place the order are also very helpless. There must be a market for large orders. If there is not such a high demand, placing as many orders as possible is the best way to reduce risks. According to a manufacturer of satin fabrics: “Not long ago, I received an order worth 10,000 yuan. The order for rice bubble satin needs to be produced within a week. Nowadays, many customers place orders in small quantities. We can produce as much as they want.”
Monitoring samples this week show that weaving inventory is around 35.5 days, an increase from last week. In the past, just keep the inventory, but now when the cost is high and the demand is small, producing more inventory is asking for trouble. Weaving manufacturers also understand, but they cannot stop the machine directly, otherwise the workers will leave and find it again. It’s even harder.
More than half of April has passed, and it is still unclear whether there will be a fierce “battle” for the follow-up. In the face of various sudden risks, stability is the most important thing.
