Strict environmental protection dye prices have soared again, and 51 companies will be shut down before the end of the year

Environmental protection inspections have a particularly obvious impact on the decision-making of dye prices. In just two weeks, the market situation of disperse dyes has been very different.

On December 28, an industry public account published a document showing that after researching leading manufacturers, it was learned that the price of dispersed black ECT300% has been raised to 40 yuan/kg, and other dispersed products have been raised simultaneously.

It is reported that on December 11, the dye market was slightly bleak, and the transaction atmosphere of conventional dye varieties gradually weakened. Manufacturers and traders were more interested in clearing their warehouses and withdrawing funds, and dyeing factories mainly purchased for rigid needs. On December 11, the market transaction price of dispersed black ECT 300% remained at 26 yuan/kg.

This sudden price surge is because environmental protection requirements are once again strict.

On December 24, the Center’s Second Environmental Protection Inspection Team provided feedback to the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government. The inspection team pointed out that Zhejiang Province has made remarkable achievements in protecting the ecological environment, but environmental problems in some fields and regions are still outstanding, and there is still a gap compared with the ardent requirements of the center and the higher expectations of the people. The main problems include insufficient pressure transmission and insufficient balance in work advancement; the damage and pollution of the marine ecological environment are still prominent; and there are weak links in the construction of environmental infrastructure.

Recently, the Keqiao District Government of Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province issued a document requiring 51 local heavily polluting companies to shut down before the end of the year. The notice pointed out that in order to fully implement the spirit of the “Implementation Opinions on Deeply Promoting the Improvement and Improvement of Industrial Residential Areas” (District Party Committee Office [2017] No. 80) and other documents, according to the requirements of the district’s Industrial Area Improvement Promotion Conference, the following 51 companies were identified as Qianqing The town’s industrial community rectification and promotion batch closure list requires them to close down before December 31, 2017, and to complete three cleans (cleaning of raw materials, cleaning of equipment, and cleaning of the site) within the specified time. If it is not completed as required, the town rectification office will take coercive measures together with relevant departments.

On the 25th, news from The Paper said that in order to ensure that the water quality of the national and provincial examination sections of the city’s rivers meets the annual assessment requirements issued by the country, Suzhou Kunshan City issued an emergency notice on December 24, requiring 270 companies within the city have suspended production across the board. Affected by this incident, 17 home textile companies including Wanlong Down Products (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., Kunshan Starford Fabric Co., Ltd., and Jinshan Fabric Products Co., Ltd. are facing the crisis of closure.

According to leading disperse dye companies, due to the continued severe environmental protection situation, business operations are restricted, the supply of dyes is small, and inventory is low. The disperse dyes purchased by dye traders and printing and dyeing enterprises in the early stage have been very low after consumption in the fourth quarter. They need to replenish their positions in the near future, and the rigid demand is increasing.

It is worth mentioning that in July and August this year, the same environmental issues caused a sharp rise in dyes. At that time, the price of disperse dyes soared by more than 50% in one month.
