How is the business of jet products this year?
Since this year, the spearhead of environmental protection rectification has been directed at the water-jet industry with a large coverage in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang fabric clusters. A total of more than a quarter of the water-jet looms will be eliminated. The industry threshold is high and the added value of the products is also high. This is the reason why I chose to continue working in this industry. Facts have proved that nowadays, environmental protection regulations are so strict and air-jet looms are less affected by environmental protection. My choice is still correct.” Today in Suzhou Jingtan specializes in the production of nylon four-way elastic in the Shengze area, and has cooperated with many domestic brands. Xu Xiaolin, general manager of Wujiang Hengli Fabric Co., Ltd., another company that has been in the jet industry for more than ten years, also believes that jet products have not been greatly affected by the environmental protection market this year. Wujiang Hengshili Fabrics has about 130 air-jet looms, mainly producing polyester and cotton air-jet products.
The end of the year is approaching, and the elimination plans for water-jet looms formulated in various places are being implemented in an orderly manner. Many water-jet looms have been sealed. Will air-jet looms become a “hot potato”? “Cake”? Xu Xiaolin does not think so. He said, “To put it bluntly, air jet and water jet are two industries and have nothing to do with each other.” Just looking at the products produced by water jet looms and air jet looms, the two have similarities and differences. Generally speaking, water-jet looms can only produce chemical fiber fabrics, while air-jet looms can not only produce chemical fiber fabrics, but also cotton interlaced products. Compared with water-jet products, air-jet products have better added value and quality. and prices are higher. Shen Feifei, general manager of Suzhou Maiding Fabric Co., Ltd., also said frankly that the water-jet machines currently on the market are all old water-jet machines that are more than 10 years old. The main models are 190. There are many small workshops, and most of the knitting machines cost 1-2 yuan. Low-end varieties, for this reason, have a relatively small role in promoting jet products. He said that most of the air-jet products are high-end products, and even low-end cotton fabrics cannot be made with water-jet looms. After all, there is less pressure on environmental protection and the products have high added value. The market still has a certain future,” Shen Wenrong said.
Jetting is not as good as spraying water! Who touched the “cheese” of Jet Products?
During the visit, many bosses said that today’s fabric market is difficult. It is not that environmental protection rectification will have much impact on the jet industry, but that the fluctuation of raw materials will have a negative impact on the company. Li Weichen from the sales department of Xinmin Technology believes that the general increase in raw material prices this year has had a certain impact on the price of natural cotton cloth. Although profits are generally similar to last year, the cost of raw materials still has a certain impact on the production and operation of enterprises. Xinmin Technology, as a long-established weaving enterprise in Shengze area, currently has 500 air-jet looms and mainly produces rayon, interlaced rayon, Cotton and rayon fabrics.

Especially for some old customers, the company does not dare to raise prices too high, so the raw materials The profit shrinkage caused by this can only be absorbed by oneself. It is also understood that in addition to the profit losses caused by raw material fluctuations, the high electricity bills of air-jet looms also account for a large part of the company’s operating costs. Currently, the daily electricity bill of a water-jet loom is 40-50 yuan, while air-jet looms The daily electricity bill for the machine is about 200 yuan, which is more than four times higher.
“Water-to-air”, which is known as the savior of water-jet looms, will it be accepted by the “water and soil”?
In the context of continuous suppression of water-jet looms, how to transform water-jet looms has become a “worry” for countless fabric owners. At this time, “water-to-air” has entered people’s sight. : According to the principles and standards of imported equipment, first change the “water supply line” to an “air supply line”, then replace the nozzle, controller and other parts, and finally transform the water jet loom into an air jet loom with stable performance.
In response to the question of whether “water to gas” is feasible, Shen Jianhua, general manager of Wujiang Jisheng Fabric Co., Ltd., said frankly that the company’s main products are wide-width home textile fabrics. It does not apply to machines with “Qi”. Moreover, for the same type of products, the weaving cost of air-jet looms is 0.25~0.3 yuan/meter higher than that of water-jet looms, which is not suitable for water-jet products that are not very profitable. Secondly, in Shengze area, there are generally many sizing-free looms, but air-jet looms cannot do sizing-free looms. Moreover, problems such as the high additional cost of water-to-gas conversion and unstable technology have also become obstacles to the progress of water-to-gas conversion.
In addition to Shen Jianhua, many jet bosses also believe that it will take time for “water to gas” to be widely popularized. After all, the power consumption after “water to gas” is the same as that of jet There are many products, but the products that can be produced are very limited. Air-jet looms can produce any product, so for weaving manufacturers, why not directly purchase air-jet looms with comparable prices? Of course, as technology continues to mature, “water to gas” equipment is constantly updated and improved. It is not ruled out that “water to gas” will become a new highlight in the market in the future.
