2023 Industrial and Textile Outlook | Wang Yi, Chairman of the Filtration and Separation Branch of China Industrial Association: Deepen technological innovation, expand international market development, and aim at high-quality development
Q1
What policies and views impressed you most in the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China? How will this impact the club’s work?
Wang Yi: The report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China mentioned the construction of a modern industrial system and the improvement of the scientific and technological innovation system. These policies have further strengthened the development confidence of our technology-based manufacturing enterprises.
On the road to becoming a manufacturing powerhouse, the filtration and separation textile industry will continue to adhere to high-end, intelligent and green development ideas. Taking the Nanjing Fiberglass Institute as an example, the Fiberglass Institute will focus on the iterative innovation of the strategic emerging membrane material industry and the transformation and upgrading of fiberglass industrial technology equipment products and services. Focus on the research and development of new energy-saving environmentally friendly membrane materials, green production and intelligent manufacturing technologies, determined to become an exploration of scientific and technological systems and mechanisms leader, a leader in technological progress in the industry, and a contributor to the battle to defend the blue sky.
I also hope to use the experience and practices of Nanjing Fiberglass Institute to better coordinate development and mutual promotion with the China Association of Industry and Commerce, the Filtration and Separation Textile Branch of the China Association of Industry and Commerce and Industry Enterprises, and make the industry and enterprises better, bigger, and better. To become stronger, let our industry become a new growth engine for China’s economy and promote the construction of a strong manufacturing country.
Q2
What opportunities does the industry currently face? How should industries and companies seize opportunities?
Wang Yi: The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China adheres to the development ideas of high-end, intelligent and green manufacturing. Green transformation is a characteristic of the current era of global industrial development. All countries are actively promoting green transformation, which is in line with this trend. Trending industries and products will also usher in development opportunities, and the “four orientations” also point out the direction for the development of technological innovation enterprises. Against this background, our filtration and separation textile industry is standing in the right direction of historical trends. The future development of the industry has huge prospects, and the future is promising.
Faced with such a critical period in history, industry enterprises must take protecting people’s lives and health as their own responsibility and steadily improve their status and competitiveness in the global market. Specific actions include: First, strengthen the foundation and make up for shortcomings. In the new stage of development, making up for shortcomings, strengthening the foundation for industrial development, and improving the safety level of the industrial chain and supply chain are important tasks for new industrialization. The second is to continue to improve quality. Through a series of measures such as improving quality standards and production capacity on the production side and increasing market quality supervision on the market side, product quality will be promoted to a new level. The third is to create a sustainable development model. Companies with strong competitiveness and high production efficiency should proactively improve employee benefits, fulfill corporate social responsibilities, and drive up industry income levels. Only by achieving a “win-win” between enterprises and employees can the industry develop rapidly, the enterprise be everlasting, and employees live a happy life.
Q3
What development characteristics will the filtration and separation industry show in 2022?
Wang Yi: At present, the industry is in a state of full competition in the market. The impact of the economic environment will bring shuffle in the industry. In the future, there will be an industry in which “the weak will be eliminated and the strong will survive.” pattern.
In order to further promote the high-quality development of the industry in 2022, the branch has done some work:
In terms of policy research: combined with the characteristics of the filtration industry, when the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revised the “Strategic Emerging Industries Classification (2018)”, the strategic emerging industry products “medium and high-performance bag dust removal filter materials and fibers” were refined and defined. In line with the characteristics of industry products; when the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revised the “Industrial Enterprises’ Technical Transformation and Upgrading Investment Guide (2019 Edition)”, filtering textiles were included in the key directions of the guide.
In terms of scientific and technological work: In the “Textile Industry Dual Carbon Development Strategy and Technology Roadmap” project of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the low-carbon and green development situation and process route of the needle punching process in the filtration industry were studied; actively cooperated with the China Association of Advanced Technology Textile Innovation Alliance building, promoting filtration textiles as the key direction of the alliance.
Standardization work: Completed the revision of the industry standard “Woven Filter Cloth”, promoted the drafting of the standard “Determination and Evaluation of Seam Performance of Industrial Dust Filter Materials”, and established a new industry standard “Polytetrafluoroethylene Sewing Thread” ; Actively promote the evaluation and evaluation of air permeability of “Coffee FilterNonwovens“, “Chinese Medicine Filtering Nonwovens” and “Mask materials. The drafting of group standards such as “Classification” focuses on standardization work to promote scientific and technological progress and high-quality development in the industry.
Q4
Looking forward to 2023, what plans will the branch make?
Wang Yi: The filtration and separation textile industry is currently under great pressure from economic development, but in the long run, the country’s demand for environmental protection and clean technology will grow, and the fundamentals of future industry growth will not change. Therefore, during this period, “how to survive, at the same time make reserves, build competitive advantages,…”The rapid development of enterprises after the economic recovery” is the primary consideration.
Based on the spirit of the 20th National Congress, the future development of the industry must first achieve “technological innovation”, deepen research and development, and achieve product diversification. For example, filter materials focus on niche fields such as food and chemical industry, develop high value-added products, and form diversified products. Matrix, to open up market segmentation space; secondly, we must “increase the development of international markets”. Compared with similar overseas products, domestic enterprise products still have an advantage in production costs. To develop healthily and sustainably, the industry must participate in the global market to open up the pattern of industry growth. . In the future, the domestic filtration and separation textiles industry will compete for a number of bigger and stronger leading companies to participate in global competition and enhance China’s competitiveness and market share in the filtration and separation textiles track.
In 2023, the branch will strengthen its own capacity building, enhance industry cohesion and social influence, improve service capabilities and innovation capabilities, with the purpose of promoting the high-quality development of the filtration and separation textile industry, deepen industry-university-research cooperation, and actively organize industry technology Exchanges and related training to enhance the scientific and technological innovation capabilities of industry enterprises. In addition, we carry out relevant service training for international trade, insist on being truthful and pragmatic, focus on work effectiveness, and at the same time strengthen policy recommendations and standards and standardization work to increase the industry’s voice.
